    March 2007 - Chris Worley

Chris Worley (aka Ninjie's husband) is the owner of this month's Spotlight ride. It is a 2004 BMW R1150GS 'Rockster'.

Chris has been riding for a long time and had various different bikes. He picked up the Rockster in May of 2006 as a leftover 2004 with 7 miles on it. It now has over 13K miles on it.

    More about the bike:
  • BMWs tend to come with alot of what would be options on other bikes as standard equipment, so Chris hasn't had to add much to the bike.
  • The only thing I know he's added for sure is a set of hand guards (Ninjie told me that's what he got for Christmas.
  • From Chris: "I initially wanted an R1100S, but the deal on the Rockster was too good to pass up. The only other bike I want to own someday is a Moto Guzzi. They have a few sporty models that are really cool. For now the BMW is everything that I could want in a bike. It is extremely versatile."

  • Steve Warrick is the owner of this month's Spotlight ride. It is a 1987 Yamaha Radian YX600T.

Steve completed the BRC in June 2005 and the ERC in April 2006.

    More about the bike:
  • Purchased May 2005 24,086 miles. as of November 2006, it has 36,000 miles.
  • From Steve: "On the recommendation of a good motorcycle friend, I purchased this bike before I knew anything about motorcycles. Now I cannot imagine owning anything else. It is my second motorcycle; my first all street bike. I really like the fact that it does not have a wind shield, as I have gotten used to feeling as though I am gliding through the air. I like the traditional sitting position, with plenty of room in front of and behind me for a passenger or some cargo. I also love to give rides on it. My wife likes to go for rides, too. While more storage area would be nice, I like its sleek and unincumbered build. I like the smooth, quick acceleration from the engine's 600cc 4 inline cylinders. In all ways adequate, yet not too powerful that I get into trouble. Someday I will own another bike. But I cannot imagine parting with this one. I want my next bike to be as close to the good features of this one as possible. I am not very much into specialized accessories, I just like to keep it running well and reliably."
